General Motors Bank Relations Treasury Analyst in Warren, Michigan

Job Description

Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center, Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

The Bank Relations Analyst for North American Operations will be responsible for development and execution of various corporate transactions as well as traditional corporate treasury functions. This role is instrumental in managing banking relationships and providing cross functional support across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Manage GM’s banking relationships including KYC management, aggregating and presenting bank data, responding to inquiries and coordinating bank meetings.

  • Forecast daily cash investment requirements for GM’s cash pooling entities

  • Perform settlements for FX, investments and other transactions

  • Lead thought-process and implement strategic ad-hoc treasury projects

  • Lead Business Continuity Planning activities

  • Oversee and execute cash positioning to appropriately fund various entities

  • Execute treasury wires to fund strategic alliances, acquisitions, and divestments

  • Support GM’s global multilateral netting process

  • Maintain bank accounts and related documentation for various GM entities

  • Monitor and settle bank fees

  • Lead or support activities like audits, account reconciliations and tax validations

  • Identify and manage process improvement projects

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and knowledge of corporate finance principles including ability to perform balance sheet analysis, income statement analysis, cash flow statement analysis, capital structure analysis, etc.

  • Familiarity in use of common financial tools (ROIC, NPV, IRR, etc.)

  • Sophisticated Excel skills and strong modeling and financial valuation skills. Strong analytical and organizational abilities

  • Critical thinking and inquisitive mind

  • Maturity to deal with ambiguity and build relations appropriately

  • Can provide accurate, timely and reliable reporting and controls

  • Searches out and corrects inconsistent data; finds and fixes root cause of inconsistencies; understands the drivers

  • Function skills (experience with at least one of the following)

  • Cash and Liquidity management

  • Direct cash flow forecast

  • Cross border flows / inter-company funding

  • Compliance and control procedures

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Masters degree or MBA preferred

  • Experience in corporate finance and/or treasury

  • Experience with KNIME or Power BI

  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork and partnerships

  • Able to embrace, manage, and lead change with the workgroups(s)

  • Ability to prioritize assignments / projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints (Fast / Responsive)

  • Ability to structure presentations in straightforward, efficient manner for varying audiences

  • Effective communications up/down/across the organization

  • Ability to structure presentations in straightforward, efficient manner

  • Effective business writer; able to provide a short synopsis and recommend
