Vectrus Electronics Technician III Lead in Wahiawa, Hawaii

Overview

The Electronic Tech III Lead will work directly on a U.S. Government Department of Defense (DoD) contract for the Program Manager of V2X. As an Electronic Technician, the candidate will support the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) at Wahiawa, Hawaii and will be responsible for the operations and maintenance of the satellite communications terminals and associated equipment located at the Wahiawa gateway facility.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Operations Manager & Maintenance Manager

  • The operation and maintenance of satellite communications earth terminals and all associated equipment in the - facility on a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year on call basis.

  • Operation of electronic test equipment

  • Operation of cryptographic equipment

  • Perform and/or assist in circuit troubleshooting, testing and fault isolation as required.

  • Monitoring and reporting of any outages as they occur

  • Monitor overall system status, respond to alerts and events, maintains system status database

  • Coordinate H/W & S/W upgrades, Configure data collection performance parameters

  • Perform organizational & direct support level maintenance on modems, multiplexers, up converters, down converters, power amplifiers, servo systems, frequency standards, satellite tracking systems, antenna mounted electronics (AME) and ancillary equipment

  • Perform appropriate testing, patching, configuration and reconfiguration of multiplexers, modems, up-converters and down-converters as required

  • Perform maintenance related tasks as required by the navy’s Maintenance and Material Management (3M) program

  • Utilize multiple platforms to create tickets or incidents to document efforts, request and track parts, and/or request technical assistance

  • Ensure safety of personnel and equipment

  • Education/Experience

  • A minimum of Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification or an approved 4 year Science or Mathematics degree.

  • Successful completion of formal U.S. Navy Maintenance and Material Management (3M) Systems training is required.

  • A minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience that demonstrates ability to perform Maintenance Manager functions in the absence of the incumbent Maintenance Manager.

  • Knowledge is mandatory of electricity and radio theory, including transistors, solid-state components, traveling wave tube theory, and digital and timing techniques applying to digital network operations and related to equipment maintenance; and interpretation of management information data, technical orders, blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings.

  • Experience in the use of government provided Fed Log program to research logistical data in order to verify part numbers and National Stock Numbers are valid.

  • Must be minimally IAT Level II certified with appropriate baseline security and operating system/computer environment (OS/CE) certification in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M and SECNAV-M 5239.2).

  • Obtain EKMS 301 certification within 30 days of hire.

  • Obtain 3M 301 certification within 90 days of hire.

  • Skills

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs horizontally and 35 lbs vertically a distance of 50 feet without resting.

  • Able to climb 30ft on fixed ladders

  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to work emergency callouts on a 24-hour rotating shift.

  • Must be able to read and write English.

  • Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must have active Secret Security Clearance.
