Nexstar Media Group Internship Sports, Unpaid in Waco, Texas
KWKT-TV/KYLE-TV has a unique opportunity for interning in our Sports/News department.
The Internship is related to an educational purpose and there is no guarantee or expectation that the activity will result in employment with the Company. The education received by the Intern from the internship is for express benefit of the Intern. The Intern does not replace or displace any employee of the Company. The Intern will receive direct and close supervision by an appropriate supervisor. This is an unpaid Internship and the Intern is not entitled to wages or any compensation or benefits for the time spent in the internship. Company is not liable for injury sustained or health conditions that may arise for the unpaid intern during the internship. Interns will have the opportunity to practice their Sports/News skills while helping News staff with related daily operations and tasks.
Students are expected to obtain and complete any forms necessary to receive credit for the internship experience.
The Student shall:
abide by all safety rules and procedures of Company.
exert best efforts in receiving training and cooperate with and follow the instructions of employees of Company, possess journalistic integrity
maintain strictly the confidences of Company, the customers of Company, all information or data received regarding Company and any of its trade secrets or any other confidential business information received by the Student
work on learning Sports/News tasks and skills
shadow News personnel and assist with their day-to-day processes and reporting
hours and schedule to be termined on a case by case basis
Student is responsible for their own transportation
