WordPress Developer Responsibilities: Maintain and enhance the zelis.com and Zelis API Marketplace sites Work closely with the User Experience Designers who define the requirements Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration Building and implementing new themes and plugins Conducting website performance tests Troubleshooting content issues Monitoring the performance of the live website Required skills: 3 to 4 years of development experience with WordPress Knowledge of the official WordPress documentation (Codex) to troubleshoot issues and implement best practices Experience working with a variety of WordPress plugins Experience with custom WordPress themes and plugin development Experience with PHP development and PHP frameworks Experience with SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS Ability to create websites that work seamlessly across various devices and screen sizes Awareness of WordPress security principles and the ability to implement security best practices to protect websites Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics Working knowledge of front and backend development Familiarity with code versioning tools (GitHub) Effective communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work well in a team or independently Desired skills: Experience setting up development environments Working knowledge of AWS or Azure Cloud Computing Services Knowledge of security controls Understanding of Section 508 guidelines Ability to develop user stories to address user requirements Understanding of agile development tools such as Jira
