VCA Laurelhurst Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join their team!

With six doctors and an AAHA accreditation, we have been serving the Laurelhurst community and surrounding areas for many years. Our hospital is modern, fast-paced, and paperless, offering a range of services such as wellness and preventative care, advanced nursing care, digital radiology, ultrasonography, surgery, dentistry, hospitalization, and client education. Snapshot of the Role: Whether you are a seasoned Veterinary Assistant or a Veterinary Assistant in training, we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that will be utilized include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist doctors and technicians with exams, treatments and procedures

  • Providing support to the entire veterinary hospital staff

  • Ensure there is a clean, comfortable environment for patients and clients

  • Ensuring that treatment areas and exam rooms remain fully stocked

  • Client education and communication

  • Perform Diagnostic procedures

  • Perform Labataory procedures

  • Pharmacy

  • Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations

  • Keep accurate records and logs

  • Sterilize equipment

  • Observing patients for obvious signs of health concerns and reporting any findings to senior staff

  • Plus so much more!

Schedule: Full-time opportunity. Flexible scheduling. Typically, 4/10’s with rotating weekends.

Compensation: The pay range for this position is $21-25 / hour. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.
