The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a Senior Energy Standardization Program Manager to join our growing Operational Excellence team. In this role, you will lead Standardization Program Specialists, manage development projects for standards and processes, and coordinate business standardization initiatives. Additional responsibilities include:

Leadership and Team Management

  • Work with Director, Business Excellence to achieve the McKinstry standardization vision.

  • Work with Line-of-Business Leadership to achieve their standardization objectives, goals and vision.

  • Collaborate and advise on standards and process improvement initiatives.

  • Provide regular reporting on all Line-of-Business Standard and Process improvement efforts.

  • Manage Standardization Program Specialists, to include mentoring and guiding them through change management and the Standard Development Process.

  • Manage team workload and responsibilities to optimize productivity to meet annual plan goals and objectives.

  • Train project teams on the Standard Development Process.

  • Provide critical analysis of existing and proposed processes to ensure cross-functional team alignment.

  • Work within Operational Excellence, and assist in the development of all department operations, training and communication plans.

  • Stand in for the Director, Business Excellence when requested.

Standardization Program Management

  • Responsible for coordinating cross-functional standardization project teams within the scope of the Standard Development Process to develop project deliverables.

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and tracking checklists to keep project teams organized and focused on stakeholder direction for the project.

  • Write and review policies, procedures, and supporting documentation under the guidance of process stakeholders and subject matter experts.

  • Conduct standardization meetings with various size project teams to align members on project objectives and deliverables.

  • Develop implementation plans to support the communication and training of standardization project deliverables as coordinated with process stakeholders and subject matter experts.

  • Communicate standardization initiatives throughout organization in small and large group settings. Develop supporting materials for these presentations to match audience experience and meeting objectives.

  • Liaise with external world-class standardization organizations and seek peer input on progress of McKinstry standardization efforts.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Standardization Program Manager.

  • Minimum 10 years of standardization experience, preferably in a construction related field.

  • Demonstrated experience performing continuous improvement and standardization activities in a manner compliant with ISO 9001.

  • Minimum 5 years of team and/or project management experience required.

  • Degree – Bachelor’s Degree required (a degree in computer science, math, statistics, or similar quantitative field is preferred).

  • Strong project management skills required.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with people at all levels across the organization required.

  • Excellent facilitation skills and the ability to lead diverse project teams required.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite -Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint required.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in technical writing preferred.

  • Experience in Project Management, to include PMI certification, preferred.

  • ASQ Certification Preferred.

  • Process Improvement/Change management Certifications (Lean-Six Sigma, Change Management Certification (e.g. PROSCI), Certified Business Process Professional, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and/or Certified Process Professional (CPP).

  • Experience in LEAN Construction preferred.

T he pay range for this position is $80,100 - $127,680 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
