Registered Nurse - MS/Tele Location: Wilmington, NC Duration: 13 Weeks Description: REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: Minimum Years of Experience: Must have 2 years of surgical unit experience Traveler Experience: Travel experience is preferred by not required Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes Skills: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin Protocols, PCA, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac , External CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oxygen face masks, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac Certs: BLS PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: ACLS, Charge nurse experience and Level 1 Trauma, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Telemetry - remote monitoring, IV insulin protocols, Titration of Insulin drips, Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure, Spinal cord injury, Traumatic Brain injury, Ortho trauma, Tracheostomy Management, JOB DETAILS: Ratios: 1:6 for floor for surgical/medicine inpatient patients. Surgical Stepdown patients will be managed by stepdown trained nurse. Shift: 12 HR NIGHTS; 36 or 48 hours accepted. If 48, then no OT billed until after 48 hours. Will accept 13-26 weeks RTO: 7 days MAX Float Requirement: when needed to like units Weekend Requirement: every other weekend * Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Wide range of patient diagnoses that have had or plan to have surgery or involved in a trauma: Cellulitis, Appendicitis, Cholecystitis, Diverticulitis, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Gun Shots, Stabbings, Falls, Various Cancers, Kidney Stones, Bowel Obstruction, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Limb Ischemia, Hernia, Gangrene SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Wide range of any inpatient surgical procedure, as well as trauma: Cholecystectomy, Appendectomy, Hernia Repair, TURP, Ostomy Creation or Closure, Wound Debridement, Tumor Removal, Kidney Stone Removal, Amputations, Fem Pop Bypass SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Wound Vacs, Chest Tubes, NG tube/Corpak, JP Drains, Hemovac Drains, Penrose Drains UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR SCHEDULING TYPE: Schedule as needed as needed UNIT ORIENTATION: 2 Days of hospital orientation, 24 hours of floor training SCRUBS: All Navy or Navy on bottom/White Top As an equal opportunity employer, ICONMA provides an employment environment that supports and encourages the abilities of all persons without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or express, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability status, political affiliation, genetics, marital status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
