Job Overview:
Here's your chance to step into the role of Manager - Operations at Green Planet . In this position, you will take on key responsibilities that include:
To manage, support and supervise all Operational Departments within The Green Planet
To display a friendly, helpful, and cheerful attitude while communicating effectively with our guests and fellow team members in order to support The Green Planet’s Vision, Core Values and Brand Promise.
To represent & promote The Green Planet and Dubai Holding Entertainment in a positive manner to maintain a professional brand image.
To listen actively to our guests’ feedback, requests, and concerns in order to take action in an ethical, effective and timely manner to exceed their expectations.
To ensure the enforcement of The Green Planet’s rules as necessary in order to ensure guest and animal safety and provide an enjoyable experience.
To always liaise with local and international authorities in a professional and courteous manner.
To work closely with other departments assisting them in the development of exhibits.
To participate in public relations and conservation promotions as needed.
To collaborate with external organizations and conservations bodies for partnerships
To uphold animal welfare standards and abide by EAZA requirements.
To serve as point person onsite for all emergency and critical decision-making scenarios as Business Unit Head.
To approve all expenses related to The Green Planet and act as signatory for payment.
To supervise and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in the inventory, care feeding and delivery of animals as well as facility and LSS maintenance.
To oversee all medical treatments.
To review and monitor all animal necropsy and veterinarian site visit reports.
To serve as The Green Planet’s representative to professional agencies, institutions and various committees including; aquarium operations, exhibits, research and safety.
To perform public relations functions associated with the department as necessary.
To monitor LSS operations and manage operational upgrades and performance.
To constantly look to improve animal exhibits.
To oversee the outsourced maintenance, horticulture and Cleaning providers as the main point of contact.
To monitor all department inventory and costs in order to reduce loss, waste and control costs.
Proactively implement new exhibits, products, programs and educational opportunities in order to maximize revenues.
To actively seek and implement cost saving programs in order to provide positive financial results.
To manage The Green Planet’s Operational and Curatorial budgets proactively in order to achieve the efficient use of labor and reduce costs.
To ensure actual expenses do not exceed the business unit’s budget in order to increase profit.
Manage the procurement and storage of necessary supplies and the maintenance of related equipment.
Ensure highest level of Safety, Courtesy, Education and Efficiency.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards in accordance with the Dubai Municipality rules and regulations.
To obtain approval from Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and local authorities for all animal and plant related activities.
To monitor the effectiveness of exhibits, products and programs, including comprehensive review and improvement.
To initiate, develop and oversee the publishing of all policy and procedure documents.
To organize, direct and establish innovative exhibits and campaigns.
To ensure sustainable operational readiness at all times.
To ensure all team members are complying with company standards at all times.
To understand, follow and enforce all Standard Operating Procedures in order to exceed the operational requirements and ensure guests receive the highest standards of quality and service at all times.
To manage and control company objectives and key performance indicators in order to support the company approach in achieving the Executive Strategic Plan.
To manage emergency situations to minimize damage, loss or injury to guests, team members, animals or company property.
Maintaining a professional appearance at all times.
To prepare seasonal and annual reports for all Green Planet activities.
About you:
The preferred candidate for this role should possess the following experience and credentials:
5+ years relevant working experience
Experience working with local Authorities
Experienced horticulturalist, botanist and/or animal biologist, ideally with a strong background in tropical rainforests.
Experience in the well being of the live flora and fauna, ideally in the rainforest environment.
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
