AON Director, Climate Risk Advisory in United States

Director Climate Risk Advisory!

Aon’s Climate Risk Advisory provides physical and transition risk diagnostics, consulting, and risk transfer solutions to clients around the globe. The Climate Risk Advisory team is comprised of 28 climate experts across regions, solutions, and industries and, critically, is embedded within Aon’s core business, leveraging 100+ modelers and 40+ full-time scientists and engineers. The advisory team delivers tailored solutions and climate insight, empowering clients to make better decisions about their climate-related risks.

The Workstyle for this role is Hybrid in our Chicago, IL office!

How this opportunity is different:

  • Project delivery and client engagement across North America for the suite of Climate Risk Advisory (CRA) propositions.

  • Work with Aon colleagues to identify growth opportunities, develop and refine client playbooks, and work closely with the climate consulting leadership team to establish recommendations for expanding services and enhancing the team’s value propositions.

  • Foster engagement between account executives and in-region client delivery teams to ensure solutions and services align with client goals and needs; maintain effective relationships with Aon teams and clients.

  • Manage project execution and project staff to ensure high-quality outputs and on-time solution delivery; create project plans including detailed timelines and key delivery check points.

  • Serve as lead consultant for high profile accounts.

  • Support client presentation and project proposal development and delivery.

  • Contribute significantly to the execution of annual strategic business planning and budgeting to grow the business at acceptable levels of profitability.

  • Manage pipeline / opportunity tracking and work closely with client engagement and growth strategy colleagues to ensure an accurate and up-to-date view of the team’s opportunities.

  • Aggregate client feedback to inform development and enhancement of analytics to quantify and assess physical and transition risks to clients.

  • Support marketing material and publication development, collaborating closely with marketing and research leads globally; supports a culture of innovation and thought leadership.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • 10+ years relevant work experience.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent years of relevant insurance or reinsurance experience

  • Strong knowledge of physical risk modeling (catastrophe and/or climate models)

  • Expertise in data preparation and processing, mapping and visualization (Tableau, PowerBI, ArcMap, QGIS, etc.), and translating outputs into meaningful insights.

  • Strong understanding of the risk consulting business

  • Ability to write complex reports and business correspondence.

  • Excellent knowledge of risk consulting methodologies and principles.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and team-oriented approach.

  • Commitment to client service and business ethics.

    Pay Transparency Laws:

    The salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $200,000.00 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

    This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
