Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

In this role, you will:

As the Warehouse Coordinator reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, your responsibilities include overseeing daily operations at the DBS Warehouse, coordinating operational activities, ensuring warehouse safety, assigning tasks to team members, serving as a senior point of contact for issue resolution, generating and distributing operational statistics and reports, investigating non-action reporting and quantity mis-match reports, coordinating with Sourcing and Procurement on discrepancy resolution, collaborating with Logistics Providers on goods inwards and unloading sequence, liaising with the broader SCM group, and assisting with operational queries, investigations, and providing timely resolutions.

Key Accountabilites

The duties are comprehensive but not exhaustive.

  • Ensuring daily pre-starts on equipment are completed

  • Monitoring warehouse non-action reports

  • Coordinating obsolete stock removal

  • Managing stock-outs

  • Consulting with purchasing/expediting for query resolution

  • Verifying weekly invoices and assist with end of week reconcilliations

  • Assuming delegated duties during absenteeism

  • Maintain a positive safety culture

  • Coordinating equipment availability for loading, unloading, and deliveries.

About You.

  • Hold a Certificate III in Transport & Distribution (Warehousing & Storage) or similar.

  • Possess proven warehousing experience in the Mining or Heavy Construction industry, ideally in a Stores and Warehousing capacity

  • Have exposure to Leading Hand or Team Leader positions

  • Demonstrate the ability to motivate and support team members

  • Exhibit proficiency in MS Office suite and Ellipse (MIMS) ERP system
