Microsoft Corporation Lease Project Manager – APAC Datacenter Engineering in Singapore

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. Responsibilities

The Datacenter Engineering Lease Project Manager will be part of the team responsible for the delivery of lease datacenters in APAC. We are looking for a multi-disciplinary individual, preferably with a technical background in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications. This position will support the growth of our Datacenter Lease portfolio in the region and will manage the designs for technical compliance with Microsoft’s requirements.

The Lease Project manager will manage communications, schedule meetings and close gaps in information as the primary point of contact between internal and external parties within region for fitout design. They will work closely with regional engineering, integration, construction, security, networking, and operations teams throughout each project and ensure information received meets each discipline’s standards for risk assessment by the appropriate subject matter expert. They will report project status regularly and drive continuous improvement in tools, process and procedure.

Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with internal team members/stakeholders and vendors including but not limited to legal, operations, security, networking, engineering, construction and site acquisition. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Core Responsibilities:   

  • Manage communication with lease providers and other relevant internal stakeholders post-lease takedown.

  • Consult with the relevant internal engineering/architectural SMEs on technical matters as appropriate.

  • Organize communication and meetings with AE/LP and internal engineering/architectural SMEs to support new projects.

  • Evaluate and grade lease providers engagement, documentation, and engineering staff responsiveness.

  • Evaluate and grade any external engineering and architectural firms used in lease design review.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in mission critical or hi-tech industry such as datacenters, largescale manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or oil gas industry, with proven track record in design and/or project/program management capacity.

  • Knowledge of datacenter telecommunications requirements and/or design.

  • An understanding of datacenter lease market in region would be highly desirable.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
