Job Description

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

What?

We are seeking hands-on Principal Member of Technical Staff Engineers that share our passion and excitement of operating distributed systems at hyper scale using cloud native best practices. You will have part in the disruption of the health care industry and will help deliver better patient care.

As a PMTS engineer in our team, you’ll be responsible and lead efforts in designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support health care platform, applications, and our end users. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers. As a tech lead you will own the complete SDLC from architecture, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in computer science, or equivalent

• 8-10 years of developing and shipping enterprise distributed and/or cloud native systems

• Strong grasp of system design fundamentals and distributed systems architectural best practices

• Demonstrated ability to write great code in Java, Python, or similar OO languages

• Experience with web application development using microservices frameworks such as Helidon, Dropwizard, Spring, etc.

• Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Docker)

• Strong desire to make an impact and thrive in collaborative and energetic environments

• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts verbally and through design aspects

• Experience with maintaining, managing, tuning large Oracle databases

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

• Define, maintain, and support development environment while adopting industry best practices and tools within the Organization.

• Review and understand the business requirements and translate them into an implementation architecture.

• Identify system requirements and work with entire product development team to refine the same.

• Lead the definition of system architecture and detail-out the solution design to ensure that it is scalable, robust, high-performing and extensible.

• Ensure fault-tolerance and high-availability built into the system.

• Prepare implementation analysis, Proof-of-concepts, document the same for review and decision-making.

• Prepare Performance Testing plans to validate the system design and architecture for scalability.

• Write clear technical specifications based on analysis of complex business requirements.

• Identify risks and conduct mitigation action planning while keeping the management informed.

• Review the work of other developers and provide prompt feedback.

• Keep a critical eye on what is being injected into the code base.

• Fully own the codebase and ensure that it is in alignment with the best industry practices.

• Red-flag any flaws within the existing design in terms of performance, costs or security and come up with ways to mitigate and correct.

• Take part in regular architectural review meetings.

• Work in agile-scrum development environment.
