As part of the UK Strategic Growth function, the Bid Author will be an integral part of WSP Strategic Bids Team, the purpose of which is to support our operational businesses to deliver WSP’s Strategic Growth Strategy through work winning.

They will ensure WSP’s solutions are communicated in a compelling and consistent voice and will be responsible for articulating WSP’s offers so they reflect an understanding of the client drivers, objectives and needs.

The role will require UK wide travel.

Your New Role, What's Involved?

To be an integral part of WSP’s Strategic Bids Team, the purpose of which is to support WSP’s operational businesses deliver growth through winning new, sustainable work.

To understand internal and external customer requirements and support the development of the quality solution and authorship of the written offer for strategic bids being undertaken across WSP.

Lead and facilitate face to face storyboard session with Bid Team members, to establish the flow and content of the ‘story’ WSP wishes to portray for key bid questions.

Analyse bids to identify and share good practice which will enhance our library of excellent responses.

To build and maintain close links with WSP’s operational businesses, in particular subject matter experts, identifying and collating areas of best practice, improvement and innovation, and clearly articulate these areas into strategic bids.

Support the development of the written offer from initial planning, through preparation and review to final document. Typically, this may include authoring, developing, review or re-work of tailored or pre-written solutions

Support bid planning, management, review, governance and feedback processes as required.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

A strong use of oral and written English, with the ability to edit and present complex ideas in a straightforward and easily understandable way.

Strong and effective written and verbal collaborative communication skills, team player, collaborative.

Active listening skills.

Excellent content development, editing and proofing skills.

Participation in workshops, formulating ideas, drafting solutions and graphics etc – that fully meet client requirements.

The ability to work independently to tight deadlines and be able to communicate and influence at senior levels.
