Storey County Facilities Maintenance Worker II in Virginia City, Nevada

Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine and complex custodial and maintenance tasks involving the cleaning, maintenance, and repair of county buildings, facilities, equipment, and adjoining premises.

Distinguishing Characteristics

This is an intermediate-level position in the facilities maintenance series. It is distinguished from the Facilities Maintenance Worker I position by the level of independence in the work and the skills needed to perform more advanced maintenance duties with increased independence. Work is performed under general supervision and independently in assigned areas and may involve working around other county staff and the public, depending upon assignments. This class performs a variety of custodial and facility maintenance duties that require intermediate knowledge and skills related to the position.

Licensing, Education, and Other Requirements
  • Possess and maintain a valid Nevada Driver License appropriate for vehicles and other equipment operated.
  • The ability to pass a criminal background investigation.
  • Any combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge and ability is possession of a high school diploma or equivalency and two years or more of experience related to the duties of the position.
