Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Hampton Roads. The role centers around ensuring accurate and efficient processing of both standard and complex payables invoices, while providing exceptional service to both internal and external stakeholders. This position is within the telecom industry, and the workplace will require detail-oriented individuals with strong multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities:

• Processing invoices using a 3-Way matching method, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standard audit requirements • Verifying payment support, obtaining necessary approvals, and ensuring correct general ledger coding • Entering payment and budgetary information into the financial system with precision • Applying financial internal controls to invoices submitted electronically, manually, and via electronic interfaces • Prioritizing and processing work efficiently and in a timely manner • Addressing supplier and department inquiries promptly and professionally through email, phone, or Microsoft Teams • Interpreting and applying contractual provisions to ensure compliance • Calculating discounts and dates to optimize financial benefits • Conducting research and data gathering using Excel, and preparing reports as required • Providing assistance with phone calls and reception duties when needed Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or similar

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in Coding Invoices is essential

• Strong Data Entry skills

• Proficiency in Invoice Processing

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Oracle software

• Knowledge of Batch Processing and Batching

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Must possess a high level of integrity and maintain confidentiality of information at all times

• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred
