Technicians are | | | responsible for conducting the | | | following tasks: | | | | | |   | | | | | | - * Provide in-person customer | | | service at the library | | | service desk. Conduct | | | circulation transactions for | | | patrons, and answer patron | | | questions. Search for | | | materials in the library | | | catalog for patrons and | | | direct patrons to reference | | | librarians for research | | | assistance. Process requests | | | and materials for the Pickup | | | & Go holds service. Answer | | | incoming phone calls to the | | | library service desk. | | | - * Shelve returned books and | | | maintain book stacks. Move | | | book carts. Lift and carry | | | books. Search for missing | | | books. | | | - * Process interlibrary loan | | | materials and update records | | | in specialized library | | | software and systems. Scan | | | pages in journals and books | | | for electronic delivery. Ship | | | materials to other libraries | | | via | | | UPS software.
