KippsDeSanto - Investment Banking Director

KippsDeSanto is focused on providing comprehensive transaction advisory services – primarily M&A, private financing, and strategic advisory to middle market defense and technology companies.

The Investment Banking Director role leads mergers and acquisitions, business partnerships and corporate strategy work with our clients. The individual will work closely with the Managing Director on market opportunities and sourcing/securing business. They will be actively involved in client engagements while driving M&A strategy; developing and fostering the pipeline of potential opportunities; and analyzing and leading corporate development activities.

General Responsibilities:

  • Meaningfully contribute to business and market development

  • Craft client/deal strategies and manage execution throughout deal lifecycle

  • Manage transactions end-to-end, monitoring progress and supporting VP and team in achieving successful outcomes

  • Negotiate successful close for assigned deals independently or with limited support

  • Lead teams in completing and publishing healthcare research and thought leadership and leverage junior staff as key learning and development opportunity

  • Play a key leadership role in attracting, interviewing, mentoring, developing, and retaining top talent

  • Stay abreast of new developments within the aerospace, defense, and government technology sectors by monitoring the activities of potential buyers, including regular direct briefings with key management to have first person knowledge of their acquisition strategies and criteria

  • Track recent mid-market M&A activity within the industry

  • Assess the market, identify opportunities and collaborate to secure high value business

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Military Experience

  • At least 8 years of investment banking experience including Mergers & Acquisitions

  • FINRA Licenses - Series 63, Series 79, SIE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics with high academic achievement

  • Experience in quarterbacking deals, financial modeling, organizing due diligence across key functional areas, helping negotiate and constructing LOIs, purchase agreements, familiarity with legal documents, transaction types and considerations

  • Deep technical and functional knowledge in aerospace, defense, and government technology sectors

  • Ability to assess the market, identify opportunities and collaborate to secure high value business

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence

  • Extremely strong analytic and strategic skills

  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration
