Job purpose

Responsible for implement, support, and/or manage Global Supplier Development strategies and performance to ensure flawless launches of new programs. Responsibilities will include leading APQP process as part of new product launches, coordinate technical review, and develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements. Responsibilities will also include conducting Supplier Quality Training at the suppliers and drive performance improvements at the supplier to meet established objectives.

Viana do Castelo plant, Portugal

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead APQP process as part of new product launches and supplier resourcing actions;

  • Coordinate technical reviews and supplier assessments;

  • Develop supplier capabilities to meet BW requirements;

  • Conduct Supplier Quality Training at Suppliers;

  • Drive performance improvements to established objectives at Suppliers;

  • Coordinate cross functional technical problem resolution at Supplier sites;

  • Scope of position will include a wide range of difficult problems;

  • Follow established procedures and work to identify best practices;

  • Review of work is based on technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy at predefined milestones;

  • Recognized expert in a particular commodity and/or process (desired);

  • Provide input into commodity strategy;

  • Drive business process improvements;

  • Scope of position will include a wide range of difficult and complex problems;

  • Work is assigned in terms of objectives;

  • Review of work results is based on objectives at predetermined milestones;

  • Other duties as needed.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Technical diploma in quality area

  • Bachelor's Degree (valued)

  • Experience in similar position (valued)

  • Knowledge about automotive quality tools

  • Communications skills

  • Interpersonal relationship skills

  • PC literate

  • Fluent English level is required

  • High level of knowledge in Portuguese language is required
