Brown-Forman Quality Control Specialist in Versailles, Kentucky

Meaningful Work From Day One:

This role focuses on Bottling operations and serves as the site resource for qualitative analysis of raw materials, intermediates, and finished product samples in whiskey production. It includes addressing materials and finished package issues, guiding employees on food safety and quality standards, and maintaining lab equipment calibration. The role also requires auditing materials and goods, determining their disposition, and conducting acceptance testing on new materials per company specifications.

What You Can Expect:

● Analyze materials, production, by-product samples, and other samples to ensure they meet quality control requirements and directly communicate with suppliers as needed.

● Perform data entry and analysis to maintain accurate production records and other data capture methods.

● Suggest necessary adjustments and corrections during processing to ensure products meet standards.

● Work with various departments to investigate problems and develop corrective and preventive actions to maintain or improve food safety and quality.

● Perform routine maintenance and calibration verification of laboratory and production monitoring equipment to ensure compliance with standards.

● Create and update quality documentation to ensure all processes are well-documented and up-to-date and deliver relevant training.

● Monitor routine sensory analysis and assist with interpreting and analyzing sensory results.

● Perform Housekeeping & Sanitation and Quality System audits, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure corrective actions are implemented.

● Demonstrate and ensure adherence to all Brown-Forman Quality & Food Safety Systems. Use the Cost of Quality dashboard to effectively communicate quality non-conformances to vendors and internal partners, and document process deviations in the EtQ system.

What You Bring to the Table:

● Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering , Food Science or related science or 3-5 years experience in beverage alcohol/food industry.

● Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.

● Proficient with Google Workspace and other computer-based applications.

● Demonstrated ability to conduct analytical testing by following test methods and accurately interpreting results.

● Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.

● Possess physical capabilities to safely satisfy work requirements within industrial work settings. Includes the expectations of bending and lifting heavy objects (50+lbs).

● Able to work in a hot/cold, noisy work environment, climb steps/walk/stand for extended periods of time and tolerate exposure to alcohol fumes, carbon dioxide and grain dust (corn, rye, malted barley, wheat).

What Makes You Unique:

● Experience in the beverage or food industry.

● Professional certifications related to Quality &/or Food Safety.

● Knowledge of TTB regulations for Distilled Spirits Industry.

● Demonstrated olfactory/sensory discriminating skill.

● Proficient ability operating analytical equipment.
