As a Nursing Quality Program Manager, you will:

  • Need a strong knowledge in nursing-sensitive indicators.

  • Can autonomously identify gaps and create/implement a plan in collaboration with nursing leadership.

  • Have experience with project management (preferred, but not required).

  • Be flexible, a hard-worker, and possess strong leadership skills.

  • Have experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

The ideal caregiver is someone who:

  • Has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least five years of clinical experience.

  • Has previous personnel and project management experience.

  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills.

  • Enthusiastically engages the nursing staff and encourages collaboration.

  • Has experience using the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI).

  • Is passionate about their career and advancing the nursing profession.

  • Works efficiently by prioritizing and delegating tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates and participates in performance improvement activities for assigned clinical areas.

  • Collaborates with hospital quality department and nursing leadership to implement actionable items related to nurse-sensitive indicators, hospital quality measures, and compliance issues.

  • Monitors quality outcomes in nursing and patient safety, conducts data analysis and reviews with Nursing Leadership in assigned clinical area.

  • Investigates best practices and makes recommendations for implementation into practice.

  • Conducts unit/institute/hospital level data compliance reviews.

  • Provides real-time, one-on-one feedback to Nursing Leadership and frontline staff related to compliance.

  • Provides mentorship, and educates at unit-based in-services or staff meetings.

  • Develops and disseminate nursing educational material for quality, accreditation, and patient safety.

  • Acts as a resource to Nurse Leadership on regulatory agency outcomes such as Joint Commission, CMS, or other industry or professional agencies.

  • Assists in the development and the adoption of policy and procedure changes related to regulatory standards that effect quality patient care.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • BSN, MSN preferred.

Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a license in the current State of employment; Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Nurse Leader (CNL) or applicable certification preferred.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to take appropriate action in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

  • 5 years clinical experience; experience with personnel and project management preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary - Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.

  • Requires frequent data entry, standing, walking or sitting.

  • Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision. Normal for corrected speech and hearing.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
