Clark College Human Resource Consultant 2 - Front Office in Vancouver, Washington

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, permanent classified Human Resource Consultant 2.   The Human Resources Consultant 2 is responsible for leading the front desk Human Resources team.  This position will work in person on campus.   Some of the duties include processing and maintaining Human Resource information and data; and providing technical support for Human Resources functions.  Human Resources is an integral part of supporting the College mission, Core Themes and Values, Guided Pathways and the Social Equity Plan.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process and maintain Human Resources information and data in the ctcLink/PeopleSoft system.
  • Provide support for the different areas of the Human Resources department.
  • Process employment actions, including new hires, internal movement, separations.
  • Process background checks and new hire paperwork.
  • Point of contact for employee questions and assistance navigating the ctcLink/PeopleSoft Human Capital Module.
  • Run a variety of Human Resources reports and queries (e.g. separations, years of service, compensation, part-time hours).
  • Respond to a variety of inquiries from employees, students, and the public in-person, via telephone, and email. 
  • Prepare and maintain of a variety of correspondence, documents, and records.
  • Intake, review, and process a variety of Human Resources forms for completeness and accuracy; follow up with employees and/or applicants as needed.
  • Assist with Human Resources programs and events, such as New Employee Orientation, staff trainings, Benefits Fair and Open Enrollment, job fairs, Retirement Reception, Opening Day, and Teaching and Learning Days.
  • Create a safe, bias-free working environment, which engenders respect for differences.
  • Assist with the records management for Human Resources, both traditional physical paper documents and digital records.
  • Assign, instruct, and check the work of the front desk team to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Develop and maintain best practice manuals for reference regarding business processes and procedures.
  • Interpret and apply Human Resources rules, policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Coordinate and place office supply orders.
  • Provide excellent attention to detail. 
  • Perform related duties as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:

Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:

  • Associate's degree OR equivalent education/experience. *  *
  • One (1) year of experience working in Human Resources, Payroll, or other confidential department.
  • Excellent  customer service, organizational skills,  interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully collaborating within culturally diverse teams.

The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.
