Description
AbeBooks, an Amazon subsidiary, is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering end-to-end business intelligence solutions that empower our product, marketing, and business development teams. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical and business acumen, with the ability to draw insightful, metric-driven conclusions from large and complex data sets.

Key job responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders from all areas of the AbeBooks business including, marketing, product, program and tech teams to define BI projects, and reporting.
Perform deep dives to derive actionable insights; Create models to predict outcomes and optimize business processes.
Apply known statistical and machine learning methods to specific business problems and data, and translating these outputs into terms business stakeholders can understand and leverage.
Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute BI insights and end solutions that will inform key stakeholder’s business decisions.
Demonstrate strong communication skills to keep stakeholders informed.
Drive best practices in operational excellence, data modelling, and analysis.
Ability to translate business requests into technical requirements for BI solutions.
Build self-service reporting tools and dashboards.
Providing SQL support and training to up skill business partners (SQL, Tableau, etc.).

As a BIE at AbeBooks, you will translate business problems into actionable business insights. You are an analysis expert who leverages a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to provide a holistic view of the AbeBooks customer experience. You build deep contextual and domain knowledge, ensure data quality and build scalable tools. You effectively communicate findings across a wide range of stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

The base salary for this position ranges from $76,400/year up to $127,600/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
