Responsibilities

Night Shift: 6:45pm - 7am working a 2-2-3 schedule with

PURPOSE: This position is responsible for training newly hired packer handlers on the safe use of equipment and processes required in their new position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensuring my safety and the safety of my co-workers is a core value and is my number one priority.

  • Understand operations in production and effectively communicate tasks to co-workers

  • Train new employees consistently to ensure they are familiar with all aspects of packer responsibilities, quality and safety.

  • Ability to cross-train in different departments of the facility

  • Visually inspect product and identify product non-conformities.

  • Complete required documentation and reporting (i.e- checklists, training matrix)

  • Ensure proper rotation protocol takes place during scheduled shift (i.e-breaks and machine stations)

  • Staff are informed and held accountable for their food safety and regulatory responsibilities;

  • Staff are positively encouraged and required to notify management of actual or potential food safety issues; and

  • Staff are empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL, SKILL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manufacturing experience preferred

  • Must know or be able to obtain knowledge of production operations

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to read labels, travelers and reports
