Typical Allocation of Duties

Dispatch - 50% Receive emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatch appropriate personnel. Enter call data into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

Monitor alarms and security - 15% Respond to alarms, including security and weather alerts by dispatching and notifying appropriate personnel. Monitor security cameras and reports suspicious activities.

Prepare reports - 15% Prepare a variety of regular and special reports, including daily logs of calls received and dispatched. Maintain files and records.

GCIC operation - 15% Operate the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) database to enter and retrieve data and to conduct background, criminal record, and vehicle searches.

Contact external agencies - 5% Contact external law enforcement, fire, and other emergency response agencies as needed. ::: ::: ::: :::
