Planning & Scheduling Analyst

Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Planning & Scheduling Analyst to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, develop, coordinate, integrate, analyze, and maintain, integrated plans and schedules for proposals, projects, programs and major initiatives to meet program and/or project objectives.

  • Track, plan, schedule and perform risk analysis for production projects, programs and change activities throughout the lifecycle of a program.

  • Model the production work flow schedule and establish traceability to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) from design, procurement through manufacturing phases.

  • Develop and support integration of integrated production plans and schedules, horizontally and vertically, across company functional, product groups, suppliers, and partners.

  • Coordinate and interface with other functions, such as finance, subcontracts, material controls and contracts.

Proposal Support – Work closely with manufacturing program manager and team, capture lead and technical leads to:

  • Support the reconciliation of detailed basis of estimates (BOEs) into the lowest level tasks in the IMS.

  • Work with Supply Chain and Contracts to collect supplier quotes and subcontract proposals and incorporate into the IMS.

  • Create a fully networked Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Microsoft Project.

  • Load Resources onto Tasks and Activity custom fields into the IMS.

  • Ensure IMS adheres to industry standards, as required (i.e.: EVMS DFAR, DCMA 14-point, DECM).

  • Support Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA), if required.

Project Planning – Work closely with manufacturing program managers and technical leads to:

  • Update proposal schedule to ensure contract compliance.

  • Support Program Management Plan (PMP) generation.

  • Support the execution of setting the baseline IMS with the program team.

  • Support the finance and program team with inputs for project costs.

  • Perform Critical/Driving Path analysis.

  • Assist manufacturing program manager with regular planning cycles.

Progress/Performance Tracking:

  • Facilitate project status updates with the support of the Program Office (at least monthly).

  • Meet regularly with technical leads and manufacturing project managers to review project deadlines and activities; ensure production delivery forecasts, and workflow durations are properly reflected in production planning.

  • Analyze schedule performance and review schedule variances.

  • Support schedule related risk and opportunity analysis and provide potential solutions to the production management team.

  • Perform what-if analysis to assess schedule impact and support recovery planning with the production management team.

  • Perform and document schedule, event and change impact analysis.

  • Maintain a disciplined revision control of all planning/schedule baselines.

Report Generation:

  • Support the generation of internal and external reports such as Line of Balance (LOB), first article flow, schedule forward and backward pass analysis from design to build.

  • Extract various graphics from enterprise tools to support management reviews.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).

  • Experience with Development and/or Manufacturing contracts

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project.

  • Experience in applying and interpreting integrated cost/schedule and critical path methodologies.

  • Demonstrated understanding of Earned Value (EV) management principles and the application to complex projects.

  • Must be a U.S. Person.

    Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering or related field and 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

  • Aerospace Industry experience

  • Familiarity with Synchrono APS, manufacturing plant production, or other production schedule tools

  • Familiarity with Manufacturing and Production System Scheduling Integration into the IMS and annotation/traceability.

    Physical Requirements

Must be able to support occasional travel to production sites at Bridgeport, WV. and Columbus, MS.

Salary Range (Annualized USD)

  • Minimum Range: $61,000.00 to $109,000.00

  • Maximum Range: $109,000.00 to $130,000.00
