Job Title:

Manager, Global Supply Chain

Pay Grade:

M3

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, trains, develops, and evaluates employees.

  • Manages personnel, material, and equipment safely and effectively.

  • Assists in development of material / inventory forecasts and budgets. Meets budgeted cost targets, schedules, and quality requirements through the utilization of established Supply Chain processes and methods.

  • Facilitates floor operations and removes barriers for employees to meet measurable objectives.

  • Coordinates material flow to meet production schedules.

  • Establishes materials stocking and location strategies.

  • Complies with and implements company policy.

  • Develops policy / process based on existing Allison best practices tailored to location specific requirements.

  • Willing to work any shift assigned.

Competencies and Behaviors:

Required:

  • Knowledge of lean inventory, manufacturing, and materials management practices

  • Oral and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental practices.

  • Strong computer skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changes in responsibility based on business needs.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of pull systems / Kanban

  • Knowledge / experience with SAP or similar ERP systems

  • Knowledge of scheduling and inventory control systems and processes

Qualifications:

Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    Preferred :

  • APICS CPIM certification

Experience:

Required :

  • 3+ years’ in supervisory role

  • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain role

  • Experience in assembly and manufacturing operations.

    Preferred :

  • Experience with Six Sigma concepts

Scope Factors:

  • First Level Manager: Leads a department, area, brand, or team

  • Manages lower-level supervisors or team of professional/technical employees.

  • Frequently interacts with direct leadership and with peers of the same level or lower. Interactions generally within the same function but some cross function interactions.

  • Experienced managerial level with responsibility for one or more activities within a department Manages professional employees or supervises large complex operations/teams.

  • Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function; conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions.

  • Areas of responsibility are typically unique within the department or function.

  • Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization
