The School of Social Work seeks applications for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor for Field Education. This is a 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position with academic responsibilities that is campus-based or remote with in-person visits as needed to campus throughout the semester. The Clinical Assistant Professor will encompass all activities related to Field Education including, but not limited to, planning for student field placements, field liaison duties with students and partner organizations, teaching field seminar classes, and developing placement sites.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching/Field Liaison

Assist in planning and implementation of the School\'s field education program

Assist in the overall training and orientation of field instructors

Provide consultation and mediation, as necessary, to field instructors and partner organizations

Participate in selecting, monitoring and evaluating field placement sites

Evaluate student learning experiences, progress, and outcomes

Participate in the field education planning process

Teach field education seminar courses

Service

Membership and participation in School committees and taskforces

Membership and participation in University and/or State, national or international committees

Community-based presentations

Scholarly Work

Participation in scholarly activities

Additional responsibilities, as assigned, to support the mission of the Field Education Program and the School of Social Work

Minimum Education and Experience:

Candidates must possess a Master\'s degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work with at least two years of post-graduation experience. Ability to attain LSW within 6 months of hire is required.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Illinois Licensed Social Worker (LSW) is preferred at the time of hire. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), prior experience as a field instructor, experience in social work education or on a university campus is highly desirable. We are especially interested in candidates who have their PEL licensure.

Appointment Information

This is a 100% full-time non-tenure track faculty position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the search closes. Fully-remote or hybrid work may be considered for this position. Sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position.
