Position Summary:

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a BioMedical Equipment Technician 2 at Carle Hospital. In this role, you'll be responsible for conducting preventive, predictive, and repair maintenance, as well as other scheduled services on Biomedical and related equipment. You'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of devices, including Infusion Pumps, Centrifuges, Suction pumps, Patient Support equipment, and more. Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Associate's Degree in or Military Equivalence or Experience in Lieu of Education - 3 years troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance and calibration of electronic equipment in the Biomedical or related electronics field CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT) within 1 year or Certified Biomedical Equipment Tech (CBET) within 1 year and Driver's License upon hire. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 3 years troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance and calibration of electronic equipment in the Biomedical or related electronics field SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Electric and electronic theory including discrete components, integrated circuits, and microprocessors: test equipment such as digital multimeter and other special instrumentation designed for testing medical equipment.
Essential Functions:
Exhibits a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.
Demonstrates a working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, and network medical systems.
Demonstrates to the ability to oversee department related projects.
Mentors BMET 1 technicians
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment with minimal supervision.
Has basic understanding of project management terms and methods.
Understand and complete annual regulatory safety compliance assignments.
Can provide comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care
Is familiar with the operations and environment utilized to support hospital, clinic, et.
Has comprehensive experence in their assigned clinical environment
Capable of troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment independently specifically when on call.
