JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Pennsylvania State University Small Business Development Center (http://sbdc.psu.edu/) (SBDC) is in search of a Marketing and Events Intern to aid in the coordination and execution of marketing strategies and event initiatives. The role involves creating promotional materials for educational programs, workshops, and events, as well as contributing to the development, formatting, and dissemination of web and newsletter content. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for crafting digital marketing assets for various online platforms and managing social media content. Collaborating closely with the Marketing and Event Coordinator, the Marketing and Event Intern will play a key role in supporting the SBDC's educational programs and outreach endeavors.

This position requires a highly organized and collaborative individual who is proactive and adept at multitasking. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills are essential for success in this role, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. The ideal candidate will be a student pursuing studies in marketing, communications, or a related field. Proficiency in navigating the digital media landscape, including various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office applications, as well as photo/video editing software and design tools like Canva, is required. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact would be advantageous.This paid position is for the 2024-2025 academic year and requires a commitment of 10 hours per week. The work will primarily take place at either the Innovation Park Tech Center or the Eric J Barron Innovation Hub in downtown State College. However, flexible working arrangements in accordance with Penn State HR policies may be considered.
