JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Marketing and Communications Office within the Stuckeman School in the College of Arts and Architecture is seeking a student communications intern to fill a part-time, photography and videography intensive position starting the fall of 2024. The intern will be expected to work 10-15 hours per week, which could include covering events during evenings and weekends.

The intern’s responsibilities will include the following:

  • On-location photography/videography coverage of campus, college, school, department, and unit events; as well as students, student work, visitors, and faculty.

  • Additional video coverage and photo editing as needed.

  • Visual support for social media, publications, and websites in the form of photo, video, and possibly graphic design work.

  • A la carte requests to gather visual elements for use as stock within Stuckeman MarComm creative deliverables.

  • Generating marketing ideas targeting design students and supporting related activities.

  • Supporting School websites

  • Other duties as assigned

    The intern reports to the school’s Creative Designer.

    The ideal candidate should have experience shooting photos and video with pro-level DSLR-type cameras and experience processing/editing/retouching acquired media files through software such as Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro. Additional knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) will also be needed for graphic design support tasks.

    The intern must demonstrate attention to detail and possess above average photography and videography skills. The internship is open to rising juniors and seniors, as well as graduate students, majoring in advertising, marketing, graphic design, film, or related field.

    This is a paid internship. To be considered, applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and links to online portfolio(s) of photo/video work.

    The Stuckeman School houses the Departments of Architecture, Graphic Design, and Landscape Architecture, as well as two research centers — Hamer Center for Community Design and Stuckeman Center for Design Computing, and the Ecology Plus Design research initiative.
