JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Office for Undergraduate Education (OUE) in the College of Agricultural Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to assist with career services, recruitment, and outreach activities. The individual will contribute to OUE’s goal of providing a welcoming, inclusive, and positive experience to both prospective and current students.Specific duties include:

  • Provide support for prospective and admitted student visits and events organized by the college and Undergraduate Admissions

  • Effectively communicate the many engagement opportunities available in the College of Agricultural Sciences to prospective students and their families as well as to current students

  • Assist with management of the undergraduate student ambassador organization (Ag Advocates), such as planning of meetings and team-building activities and coordination of Advocate participation in recruitment activities

  • Engage in other OUE projects related to recruitment, such as updates to marketing materials and analysis of survey data and enrollment reports

  • Utilize Nittany Lion Careers to post positions, create events, and generate reports

  • Assist in the planning and execution of career recruitment events, including Ag Sciences Career Day

  • Support career services with student professional development efforts

Desired qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree in food, agriculture, or natural resources field from Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences (or similar land grant university)

  • Knowledge of undergraduate majors and minors and engagement opportunities available in Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences

  • Experience working with current and prospective students with diverse interests and backgrounds

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, FBI Criminal Background Check.It is possible that this job may require some driving to different locations, such as to attend a recruitment event or to participate in an Ag Advocate retreat. A valid US driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
