JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Lab Director (core-facilities) is responsible for coordinating operational activities in the Krause Pedagogical Innovation Laboratory in the College of Education. The lab director ensures classroom and laboratory security; assists with planning instruction that utilizes technology and making materials; provides instruction and support to students; contributes to research project advancement of faculty; ensures equipment and material availability and provides inventory control of instructional supplies.

  • Coordinate operational activities in the Pedagogical Innovation Laboratory; provide instructional support services to faculty and students. Staff occasionally open lab time on nights and weekends to support instructional needs for LDT 110N or other courses. Assist faculty in their teaching innovation by making technology, material, and supply recommendations. Set up and demonstrate equipment technology. Provide teaching and academic support; hold open lab time to guide students on assignment activities; teach at least one section of LDT 110N each year, schedule lab space time and facilitate setup/tear down. Contribute to research project advancement of faculty studying innovative teaching within the lab.

  • Demonstrate skill and experience with maker space technologies such as 3D printing, coding, design-in-and-build kits, robotics, laser cutting, or related technologies. Oversee laboratory security, safety, efficiency, and quality control; develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and protocols. Coordinate equipment, supply, and lab purchases, ordering, inventory, equipment maintenance, repair, and storage.

Th is position requires a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a limited-term appointment, funded for one year from date of hire, with an excellent possibility of refunding.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$42,100.00 - $61,000.00
