JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Health and Human Development (https://hhd.psu.edu/) (HHD) at Penn State seeks a highly motivated team player with a customer-service focus to fill a Facilities Representative – Advanced Professional role in a dynamic and growing college. The Facilities Representative reports to the Director of Facilities in the College of Health and Human Development Dean’s Office with primary duties that cover all aspects of day-to-day building operations and maintenance. This role provides direct support to units across the entire college. HHD is organized into 8 academic departments and five research centers with over 900 faculty and staff members operating from 14 locations (12 on-campus, two off-campus). The college portfolio of facility functions ranges from traditional office space to specialized restaurant food service to covered medical clinics to highly sophisticated research laboratories with customized equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for effective coordination with units from Penn State’s Office of the Physical Plant (OPP) and other centrally organized functions to ensure maintenance requests and approved construction projects satisfy established requirements. Documented experiences should reflect familiarity with facilities maintenance, construction project management, utility shutdown coordination, design considerations for renovation projects, space utilization practices, cost estimating awareness/funds tracking, access control procedures, physical/operational security protocols, inventory management, and occupational safety. Advanced interpersonal and communications skills are necessary as is the capacity to be productive as an independent contributor and in a dynamic team setting. Practical problem-solving and organizational skills are also needed. May serve as direct or indirect supervisor.

Education and Experience:

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficiency with technology including common computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Additional Information:

The work location for this position is 100% on-site in State College, PA.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
