Position Summary: We are looking for a Chemical Operator for our University Park, IL location. This is a full-time position with Rotating Shifts including nights, holidays and weekends. On the Job training. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company in the chemical manufacturing industry and gain valuable skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor chemical processes, bath reactors, blend vessels, and storage tanks in manual mode and with a computerized process control system.

  • Perform raw material additions, material transfers, and collect process samples.

  • Load and unload bulk tank trailers and railcars.

  • Perform packaging operations, including unloading drum trailers and palletizing drums and bags.

  • Operate forklifts and material moving equipment.

  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including log sheets, checklists and round sheets, and enter computer transactions into SAP system.

  • Complete janitorial duties and general laborer work as directed, including housekeeping activities.

  • Completely understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.

  • Conduct all tasks in a safe manner and utilize prescribed personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Associated Degree, technical school certificate, honorable military discharge, knowledge of chemical operations, and/or manufacturing experience is preferred.

  • Ability to operate a forklift is preferred

  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule and rotating shift work. This includes nights, holidays and weekends.

  • Willing to cooperate in a team, share responsibilities, take direction from others, and train fellow employees when needed.

  • Ability to plan and organize multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

  • Possess good mathematical, problem solving and computer skills.

  • Successful completion of the company's pre-employment process which includes a drug screen, criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
