Directs delivery of health care services to accomplish diagnosis and treatment. Administers financial, physical and human resources to provide medical services. Provides administrative guidance in strategic development, planning, and marketing of diagnostic and cardiovascular services. Exercises professional judgment in performance of duties and maintains a demeanor consistent with medical ethics. Monitors departmental operations to assure compliance with governmental regulations and meet standards established by accrediting agencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor's degree. 2. Licensed by the state of West Virginia in applicable modality, or applicable state where services will be performed, OR current license to practice Registered Professional Nursing in West Virginia, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed. 3. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board, or equivalent, if licensed in radiology modality. 4. Obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire. EXPERIENCE: 1. Three (3) years of progressive supervisory/management experience. 2. Five (5) years of cardiovascular and/or diagnostic services experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. MBA or advanced degree in a business or health care-related field.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Responsible for the administrative and clinical operation of the Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiovascular Services Department at all hospital sites. 2. Identifies and details work systems by interviewing customers and identifying, prioritizing and having intimate (flowchart) knowledge of systems, outcomes, and monitors. 3. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities in the Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiovascular Services Department including information system management. 4. Establishes valued standards (quality and cost), and routinely monitors those standards demonstrating incremental measurable improvement identified systems. 5. Develops, maintains, and implements the department performance improvement program. 6. Identifies, monitors, and reports on on-going performance improvement. 7. Assures existence of appropriate monitors and quality outcomes. 8. Produces and manages department budget with appropriate line-item detail and complies with annual established budgetary guidelines. 9. Manages significant variances and applies appropriate allocation of resources. 10. Assures regulatory agency compliance and conducts audits as appropriate. 11. Reviews all incident reports providing follow-up action as appropriate. 12. Re-evaluates all open positions, assessing necessity to refill. 13. Selects, hires, manages, and evaluates the effectiveness of team on an on-going basis. 14. Analyzes existing information on clinical and management trends to formulate and carry out departmental long range strategic plans resulting in continued performance improvement and financial survival of the department. 15. Researches market trends, equipment, products and services and makes recommendations to assure provision of valid, up-to-date services that meet the requirements of our physicians and customers. 16. Maintains a professional working relationship with all departmental Associates; alway responds to Associate concerns in a professional and timely manner; maintains appropriate interdepartmental communication. 17. Regularly foresees potential problem situations; intervenes to offset adverse impact; demonstrates a proactive attitude. 18. Demonstrates effectiveness in identifying future needs and problem areas; develops workable solutions; follows through on solutions. 19. Maintains an excellent rapport with physicians, gains cooperation of medical staff while working toward institutional and departmental goals. 20. Sets an appropriate example for associates regarding attitude, work ethic, communication skills, professional conduct and appearance, etc. 21. Acts as a resource for all managers to assure cooperation and teamwork between Diagnostic Services and other hospital departments for the purpose of providing quality patient care. 22. Constructs and completes projects on time and within budget with work plans and issue tracking.
