Overview
The Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and economical day-to-day operation of the plant storeroom and receiving function including inventory management, accurate inventory, accounting and purchasing recordkeeping and storeroom security.
Responsibilities
Maintain compliance with federal and state safety, health and environmental requirements including Hazard Communication, Right-to Know labeling and MSDS requirements to ensure the safety and health of all employees. Manage plant inventory level and put controls in place to ensure company cost and inventory reduction goals are achieved. Maintain Storeroom security for the safeguard of company property. Communicate and coordinate parts, tools and equipment inventory and availability with the maintenance department to ensure that proper equipment, tools and materials are available for the efficient and timely completion of scheduled maintenance projects and repair activities. Evaluate vendor performance on an ongoing basis to ensure the vendor program delivers the most cost-effective and reliable quality, service and delivery in support of Vitro operations. Use computer software to manage parts and glass component inventory for all departments to ensure that product can be manufactured and delivered to our customer in a timely manner. Supervise and train staff.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required 3-5 Years of Industrial, Storeroom, Warehousing Strong organizational skills, mechanical/electrical aptitude and efficiency/knowledge of computerized record systems is required. A general knowledge of glass fabricating and tempering processes is desired. Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the incumbent has regular, ongoing interactions with vendors, as well as with plant employees from all departments.
