Description

We are looking to hire a diligent and experienced Buyer for our distribution center in the Streetsboro area. The primary function of this role is to manage the procurement of goods, materials, and services ensuring the operational needs of our company are met with a focus on cost, quality, and delivery. This role is pivotal in maintaining the continuity of supply and offering effective customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and predict upcoming levels of demand for services and products.

• Regularly check on stock levels to ensure adequacy.

• Conduct comprehensive research to identify the best products and suppliers considering value, delivery schedules, and quality.

• Act as the liaison between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers.

• Negotiate and finalize contracts while monitoring the quality of services provided.

• Process payments and invoices in a timely and accurate manner.

• Monitor stock levels and place orders as required.

• Track order shipments and organize timely deliveries.

• Attend meetings and trade conferences relevant to the industry.

• Monitor purchase order claims and contracts ensuring they conform to company policy.

• Utilize ERP solutions, specifically IBM AS/400 and Microsoft Excel, to streamline buying processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400

• High-level competency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites

• Experience with About Time software

• Understanding of Buying Processes and Component Selection

• Proven Customer Service skills

• Previous experience in a Manufacturing environment

• Ability to navigate and manage complex purchasing scenarios

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectively

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent experience in purchasing.
