Job Summary
3 positions The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Football Coach with all facets of the program; to include organization, development, and leadership of a highly competitive Division Il football program in support of the mission and core values of Tuskegee University.
Essential Job Duties
- Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet and improve the abilities of student athletes and team performances. character, and model expected behavior
- Assist with game and practice preparation and planning
- Maintain current knowledge and adhere to all College, NCAAand Conference Rules and Regulations
- Recruitment of qualified student-athletes
- Academic monitoring to ensure that student athletes meet eligibility rules
- Demonstrate effective teaching/ coaching methods and possess excellent leadership skills
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Ten or more years of coaching experience at a high school or collegiate level
- Must have knowledge of NCAArules
Physical Demands
- Prolonged sitting or standing
- Physical exertion to move heavy objects
- Stooping, bending, and reaching
- Working indoors and outdoors year-round
- Working outdoors during hot and cold weather
- Encountering blood
- Reaching by extending hands or arms in any direction
Skills and Attributes
Knowledge of:
- Must have knowledge of NCAArules and regulations pertaining to the recruitment and retention of student-athletes
- Football rules and strategies
Skills:
- Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills
- Extensive knowledge of individual and teams skills with the ability to teach these skills
- Effective communication with players
Ability to:
- Must be able to travel extensively
