The Advanced Technologies Team is seeking a Sr. Program Quality Engineer (PQE) to support the development of new technologies on site in Tucson, Arizona. The candidate will be responsible for promoting and executing a strong Quality & Mission Assurance mindset in a collaborative team environment to meet program Milestones.

The PQE will be directly responsible for managing quality engineering lab protocols, engineering assembly, engineering integration and test, inspection of supplied and built hardware of various configurations. The PQE will be directly involved with design verification tests, qualification efforts, demonstration tests, flight test events, and engage with Raytheon Suppliers.

This program will face challenges consistent with new product development requiring the PQE to continuously practice leadership, organizational skills, and to ensure risks, opportunities and challenges are effectively and efficiently managed. The programs to which the candidate will support, have very dynamic schedules and strong customer engagement requisition.

What You Will Do

  • Be the Quality Assurance interface supporting the program, customers, suppliers, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Responsible for knowledge, guidance, and support on all quality related matters ensuring compliance to Raytheon procedures and contractual requirements.

  • Interface with external and internal customers and key partners to establishing effective relationships.

  • Responsible for quality products and services delivered to our customers, management of quality risks, uncertainties and opportunities, support in resolution of customer expectations and relationships related to Mission Assurance and Quality.

  • Responsible for developing, supporting, and implementing strategic and tactical Mission Assurance plans that will directly affect the program’s implementation and impact.

  • Responsible for improving processes or systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation skills. Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and information is typically difficult to obtain.

  • Obtain and maintain additional program access as required.

    Qualification You Must Have

  • Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years of engineering experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of documented quality engineering experience within the defense or military environment.

  • Working experience in either early development program staging, demonstration programs, design phases, engineering labs, factory and/or production programs.

  • Working experience in production disciplines in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or Quality.

  • Working experience in quality metrics used to drive root cause corrective action ( RCCA).

  • Working experience monitoring and managing RCCA, Failure Reviews, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) activities for systemic issues and ensuring robust RCCA.

  • Working experience in the translation of both external and internal requirements, command media, contractual documents.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or similar gate management process, strong understanding of contract flow and compliance.

  • Experience with Supplier Statement of Work (SSOW), Quality Notes (Qnotes), Supplier Rolling Action Item Lists (RAIL), Engineering Labs, Quality Control History Records (QCHR) to mature Operations Planning

  • PRISM transactions, view Purchase Orders, verify Qnotes, generate Quality notifications (QN’s)

  • Supplier engagement discussions of Technical Data Packages, drawing requirements, supplier non-conformances, Variances and Change Notices with effectivity of material.

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer interface management experience (i.e., Acquisitioned Customers, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)

  • Experience performing analyses of nonconformances to characterize causes as routine (common) or exceptional (special) and develop containment.

  • Works well with cross-functional IPT teams at all levels

  • Experience in solving both business and technical problems.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
