Wheel & Wheel Trim Engineer Location: Southfield, MI Duration: 9-10 Months
Description:
Level 7 = 2+ Years Bachelors
As a Wheel & Wheel Trim Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering of wheels, wheel trim, inserts and center caps and other components from initial concept to production. You will engage with attribute groups and other system owners to take the design from concept to production.
Role:
Design and develop wheels, wheel trim, inserts and center caps and other components from initial concept to production Establish requirements for components based desired vehicle attributes Complete component DFMEAs and DVPs, and contribute to system failure mode analyses Work closely with both internal teams and externals suppliers, using creativity and teamwork to design with excellence at the system and component levels Coordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designs Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment Work closely with the design studio, CAE department and validation team
Qualifications:
Automotive industry experience, mostly focused on design of wheels, wheel inserts and wheel trim Personally designed components from concept to production Proven 3D CAD skills Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly Experience in technology, system, and supplier selection Project leadership and mentoring skills Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management experience Determine required tolerances using GD&T
