Job Description Summary

This position will work in conjunction with the Magellan Rx government division to guide account management and rebate contracting efforts for Preferred Drug List (PDL) customers.

Job Description

  • Supports account management activities with key customers on Preferred Drug List through frequent contact focused on delivering value, service, strategic insight and customer satisfaction.

  • Oversees account management staff supporting Preferred Drug List customers.

  • Builds successful relationships with internal customers (ex. Finance, Accounting, Rebate Operations, Clinical and Account Management Staff).

  • Serves as Preferred Drug List product lead for program implementation including developing relationships, RFP support, and other important operational and/or clinical initiatives.

  • Cultivates and clearly articulates fact-based insights on customer’s pharmacy program and presents compelling recommendations to help improve program performance and cost savings.

  • Develops innovative unit cost and formulary utilization programs to drive additional customer value.

  • Creates effective rebate specific financial forecasts by monitoring pharmaceutical market and developing management strategy.

  • Manages relationships with drug manufacturers, building and strengthening opportunities through contract negotiations, collaboration on drug pricing, contract exclusions, and rebate rates.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of and experience with Medicaid pharmacy practice, managed care pharmacy practice, and/or pharmaceutical rebate contracting.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.

  • 10+ years’ professional experience in managed care and/or Medicaid.

  • 5+ years' experience in account management and/or developing and negotiating pharmaceutical rebate contracts.

Potential pay for this position ranges from $132,440.00 - $238,360.00 based on experience and skills. Pay range may vary by 8% depending on applicant location.
