Description

We are seeking a Grants Accountant to join a growing non-profit team in Towson, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and providing accurate financial reports to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full lifecycle of grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and agreements.

• Prepare, review, and update grant budgets and financial reports, providing accurate information to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Assist in the creation of budget narratives and grant narratives.

• Conduct frequent audits and reviews to identify and correct any discrepancies, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.

• Prepare journal entries and input data into the general ledger.

• Serve as a backup for inputting accounts payable invoices and preparing invoices.

• Submit financial reports in a timely manner as required by the terms of grants.

• Review and prepare modifications for grant budgets.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reports and funding requests.

• Utilize computer systems for various tasks including disseminating information to stakeholders, recording and verifying Time & Attendance, completing annual training, and monitoring staff training.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or related field

• Proficiency in account reconciliation

• Knowledge and experience in handling accounts payable (AP)

• Skilled in managing accounts receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must

• Experience with QuickBooks software

• Prior experience in grant accounting is required
