Job Description:

The position will encompass a range of responsibilities with regards to CAD LoB Vertical team, specifically focused on the activities relating to the Canadian P&C and Canadian Wealth, stress testing and BAU forecasting, planning & analysis:

  • Assist in the delivery of the overall Canadian P&C and Canadian Wealth Segment stress testing processes, models, documentation, and framework

  • Participate in working groups and building relationships with partners including CAD P&C Finance, Wealth Finance, Corporate segment finance, Line of Business leadership and strategy team, Enterprise Capital Stress testing team, Data, Modeling, NII teams, Credit & Operational Risk teams.

  • Develop deep understanding of the Canadian P&C and Wealth results.

  • Liaise extensively with Finance groups, to ensure all relevant components are reported appropriately.

  • Assist in the preparation of ad hoc analysis for senior leadership purposes.

  • Assist in the development of documentation outlining best practices relating to the CAD P&C and Wealth stress testing process.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency by ensuring efficient and effective processes, leveraging automation where appropriate.

  • Maintain good relations with all internal stakeholders and ensure that all their requirements are met. Must be able to work with minimal supervision in an unstructured and fast-paced environment.

Department Overview

Forecast Methodologies is part of TBSM's Enterprise Stress Testing (EST), responsible for central ownership and analysis of the balance sheet and income Statement Forecast Methodologies for CCAR / EWST / MST.

The Canadian Line of Business Vertical team within EST is responsible for

  • overall methodology designed to measure the Canadian P&C and Canadian Wealth balance sheet and income statement in stress testing and BAU Asset/Liability Management,

  • Developing and justifying key non-modelled assumptions (i.e. held flat),

  • Designing E2E aggregation processes,

  • Integrates functional areas such as management of assumptions and input, reporting and analysis, and partners with Execution team for process simplification across balance sheet, income statement, and capital result

  • Delivers multifunctional forecasting and reporting capabilities that could be leveraged for EWST/MST, ad hoc requests, and ultimately, supporting BAU forecasting functions

  • Provide Transparency (inclusive of documentation) to modeling teams and business partners into how methodologies function.

  • Ensures consistency across projections of different balance sheet / income statement line items

Job Requirements

Specific Work/Educational Requirements:

  • Canadian P&C and/or Canadian Wealth experience or associated finance support considered beneficial.

  • Experience with Stress Testing & Knowledge of PPNR requirements considered beneficial.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive transformation and change

  • Ability to understand and resolve complex issues

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential

  • Ability to adapt quickly, and adjust priorities as required

  • Self-motivated and enjoy working in a team environment

Other Qualifications / Skills / Expertise:

  • Process improvement-focused mindset, with consistent and demonstrated track record of full-scale process re-design and automation.

  • Knowledge of data visualization tools, Alteryx would be an asset.

  • Data analytics competencies supported by experience in traversing large data sets to perform analytics/drive business insights.

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including a strong competency in both MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Expertise in macros beneficial.

  • Experience with query (SQL) and large quantity of data retrieval and analysis is a plus.

  • The following experience/knowledge is not required, but considered as an asset: SAS VA / MLE, Tableau.

  • Analytical, problem solving and consensus building skills.

  • Must be able to think conceptually (“out-of-the-box”) and have a high degree of attention for detail.

  • Proactive and highly motivated individual who will take the initiative and who can work independently and in a team environment.

  • Should be able to develop good business relationships with internal partners and be able to work with minimal supervision in an unstructured and fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
