What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of CIBC’s End Point Print and Digital Output team, you will play a critical role in the design, evolution and support of our End Point Print and Digital Output Services. You will provide technical guidance, standards, and best practices to Technology teams during design, build, configuration, implementation and maintenance phases of initiatives and projects involving enterprise print tools. You will help determine standards and roadmaps for hardware/software, decide how the platforms are built and recommend standards/solutions for organization wide initiatives based on area of expertise.

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for providing technical recommendations and subject matter expertise to ensure stable, reliable production and non-production environments for complex sharing initiatives in compliance with established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. The role collaborates with and advises senior management, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics to analyze and protect production and non-production environment integrity and mitigate risks, present and recommend solutions using available resources for complex initiatives with key dependencies. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer , Endpoint Print and Digital Output provides technical leadership, interpreting complex information and coordinating client, provider, and vendor relationships to meet and manage service expectations, aligned to best practices. In addition, the role participates in the development of the team to maximize individual contributions and professional growth, functioning effectively with colleagues.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Leadership & Communication - Provide technical leadership during the design, build, configuration, implementation and maintenance phases of major Print technologies and automation tooling in a multi-platform environment. Lead the evaluation, selection and implementation of new and emerging products and techniques; support the development of business/technology proposals by estimating implementation costs and evaluating options. Collaborate with senior leaders across the company and make informed recommendations to enhance Print related solutions. Weigh business needs against technology of offerings, security concerns and provide recommendations which are practical and achievable.

  • Governance - Proactively contribute to governance initiatives in the development of company policies, audit requirements etc. Provide technical or business guidance to clients within and outside your own department.

  • Engineering - Provide automation expertise within core automation utilizing Enterprise Print current tools. Determine standards and roadmaps for hardware and software. Decide how infrastructure is built and recommends Print and Digital Output based standards for organization wide initiatives based on area of expertise. Conduct major studies regarding system usage, make recommendations for improvements, and determine infrastructure system requirements. Design, develop and test emerging Print Cloud-based software solutions. Provide ongoing analysis and evaluation of test plan, all additions and changes to ensure they are introduced in a manner that protects the integrity of the environment and mitigates risks. Provide in-depth subject matter expertise to perform broad impact analysis, present alternative solutions, and make recommendations for complex initiatives and projects. Work with the Enterprise Architecture team on identifying requirements and design for continuous evolution of Print based solutions. Manage clients, providers and vendor relationships to ensure service expectations are understood, managed and met. Support both production and non-production Print platform environments and hosted applications. Implement production and non-production changes to Print platforms and applications following established change management policies.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 5+ years' experience in design, implementation and support of the following technologies:

  • Must Haves:

  • Serverless print technologies (LRS, Celiveo Secure Print suite) ; HP Web Jet Admin , HP Security Manager, Ricoh VPSX and SLNX

  • Experience with HP WebJet Admin

  • End Point Print Incident Support and Triage

  • Active Directory Concepts including User and Group Management, Group Policy and login Scripts

  • Driver/Firmware Updates

  • Vulnerability Management

  • Nice to have:

  • Automation and Scripting with PowerShell

  • Microsoft SQL Reporting, Power BI and Tableau working knowledge

  • Microsoft Azure SaaS

  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager

  • Understanding of Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies, Enterprise Delivery Framework and ServiceNow or ITIL

  • Proficiency in Windows Server and SQL databases

  • Technical knowledge of GitHub, Jira, Confluence and Dynatrace

  • Knowledge of network, firewall and security related solutions

  • Knowledge of Systems Software Infrastructure and knowledge of the existing and planned software technology and the global, regional and local software architecture and infrastructure components

  • Familiarity with hardware technology and the global, regional and local hardware architecture

  • Experience in monitoring, hardening, policing, templating and delivery of Enterprise Print Services

  • Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems

  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques and roles and responsibilities in providing technical or business guidance to clients within and outside own area

  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems

  • Knowledge of the data center operating environment and day-to-day operational requirements

  • You have solid prioritization skills - Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities. Effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation.

  • You have strong Decision Making and Critical Thinking skills - Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skill s - Ability to produce a variety of business documents that demonstrate command of language, clarity of thought and orderliness of presentation as well as ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure.

  • You can maintain good Interpersonal Relationships - Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for working with individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.
