Amazon Senior Creative Director & Copywriter , Amazon Ads Brand Innovation Lab in Toronto, Ontario

Description

Are you a conceptual and strategic thinker who can also roll-up their sleeves and write traffic-stopping headlines, compelling body copy, and persuasive pitch decks? Are you passionate about building bespoke brand experiences that deliver actionable results? Are you a natural story-teller? Do you have an award-winning portfolio that showcases both disruptive creativity and clearly stated business impact? Can you thrive in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ambiguity? Can you deliver bold and break-though customer-centric ideas driven by data and insights?

Amazon Ads is seeking a hands-on Creative Director/Copywriter to join our Brand Innovation Lab (BIL) team, where you will lead and develop one-of-a-kind campaigns for a wide range of global brands across every advertising vertical. You'll work alongside a team of senior art directors, program managers, and software developers to create innovative campaigns across the full Amazon Canvas (Prime Video, Monday Night Hockey, Twitch, Amazon Music, Audible, OOH/Experiential, Alexa, Retail, FireTV, etc), while being solely responsible for all copy requirements. You'll help execute projects, provide creative guidance, grow client relationships, develop agency networks, and serve as a champion for Amazon Ads across the industry.

In this hybrid role, you will also craft high-level creative strategies that solve business needs, working with senior leadership to create processes and establish best practices that impact the broader department. Most significantly, you will commit to preserving a team culture of collaboration, humility, innovation, inspiration, and accountability, while fostering positive internal and agency relationships.

Key job responsibilities

  • Define the creative strategy for multiple advertisers across several advertising verticals

  • Partner with and/or lead art directors, designers, program managers, developers, and content producers to create customer-focused solutions that deliver against advertiser objectives

  • Provide in-depth understanding of copywriting for all formats, including digital, print, out-of-home, video and audio scripts

  • Synthesize strategic research and/or data to develop campaign ideas

  • Lead the creation of presentations; present ideas and concepts to clients, agencies, and internally

  • Make creative trade-off decisions between teams, clients, and end-customer needs

  • Measure and evaluate current processes within the department and improve them through documentation

  • Mentor and inspire other creatives
