JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Investor Relations Associate to join our Corporate Finance team. Reporting directly to the Head of Investor Relations, the Investor Relations Associate will play a key role in fostering positive relationships with our current and potential investors, ensuring effective communication, and providing timely and accurate information about the company's financial performance and strategic initiatives.

LOCATION:

This position will be based at our Toronto offices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships internally with senior leaders and externally with analysts and investors.

  • Support content development and key messages for financial audiences, including press releases, investor presentations, management scripts and Q&A for quarterly earnings calls, as well as materials for Board of Directors, and other investment and disclosure-related documents.

  • Under guidance of the Head of Investor Relations, ensure all work is completed to the highest standards with delivery adhering to tight timelines.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of stock ownership, stock performance, research reports and other items for the Company, and monitor and assess changes and trends in ownership of the Company's stock.

  • Support monitoring stock trading dynamics to report on shareholder activity and share performance analysis concisely for management, and on occasion, the Board of Directors.

  • Support planning and execution of key investor events, including road shows and periodic investor days and investor site tours, which requires occasional travel.

  • In partnership with other departments, monitor market and industry news including competitor, regulatory, and broader external environment changes to understand potential impact on the business; support providing counsel to management on possible future actions.

  • Support development of annual investor relations plan including detailed marketing plans

  • Track ATS and peer group performance, including company and financial performance under various market conditions.

  • Understand and effectively communicate corporate strategy to investors.

  • Act as the internal advocate for the investment community.

  • Collect consensus estimates from sell-side analysts and review their reports to report back to the internal management team.

  • Support development of corporate presentations and investor communications, including the annual information form and assistance with the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

  • Maintain financial and data models.

  • Support the Corporate Finance team with financial reporting, including reviewing Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).

  • Support the Corporate Marketing and Communications team on maintaining standards, best practices, and continual improvement on methods.

  • Maintain the investor relations website.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • A post-secondary degree specializing in business, communications, accounting, finance or equivalent. A degree in communications would also be considered if supported by strong professional experience.

  • Certifications such as CFA, MBA, and/or CPA would be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.

  • Ability to work within corporate brand and voice guidelines to build a compelling narrative to key audiences.

  • Must be hands-on, detail and results oriented and able to consistently meet deadlines.

  • 3-5 years of progressive Investor Relations experience at a public company preferred, or within the investment community, with relevant industry experience.

  • Excellent spoken and interpersonal communication skills with individuals at all levels both verbally and in writing, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrated expertise in building relationships with financial analysts/portfolio managers.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in drafting communication materials.

  • Understand financial investment analysis, company valuations and financial modelling.

  • Experience using FactSet, Capital IQ, or equivalent considered an asset.

  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Willingness to travel (20%).
