Zurich Canada is currently looking for an HR Consultant to support our Canadian talent strategy by acting as a strategic partner, facilitating organizational development and operation initiatives, leveraging data to drive meaningful insights, leading regulatory and policy management, and managing various HR programs and projects.

Reporting to the Head of HR Canada, this is a unique opportunity to build your knowledge and experience for the future in a supportive environment where your voice matters.

This is a hybrid work opportunity.

What you will do

  • Support the Head of HR with the Canadian Talent Strategy, acting as a thought partner and facilitating strategy sessions.

  • Prepare quarterly HR Dashboards and presentations for Board of Directors and Risk Committee meetings, leveraging the ability to effectively analyze data to derive insightful narratives.

  • Support organizational development initiatives and future work strategies.

  • Act as the Canadian liaison with the US HR operations team (HR technology systems and various operational programs).

  • Act as a project manager for various HR projects and oversee programs related to accessibility, health and safety, and the on/offboarding process.

  • Serve as the interface with the US on HR systems and act as an SME on data management and analysis.

  • Lead all HR regulatory work and policy management, in close collaboration with legal, risk, compliance, and HR COE teams (including audits and monitoring).

  • Lead Business Continuity Planning for the HR team.

  • Lead data governance on privacy issues and retention requirements.

What you bring to the table

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of HR experience (HR Generalist, Junior HRBP, or COE role) OR College Diploma with 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of HR principles, procedures, best practices, relevant legislation, regulations, and employment law.

  • High level of data literacy and problem solving, with a passion for data analysis and storytelling.

  • Innovative thinker with the ability to develop creative solutions to HR challenges.

  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of managing HR programs.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, able to deliver effective presentations.

  • Highly collaborative with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizations skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite.

Additional experience (assets)

  • Completion of / or working towards CHRP or an equivalent

  • Experience with HR Technology platforms

  • Bilingual (English/French)

  • Experience working in the Insurance sector

  • Change Management experience
