Finance & Database Assistant

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Finance and Database Assistant (4 Months)

Reporting to: Finance Manager

Finance and Administrative duties:

Work directly with the Finance Manager to support the finance and operations of the foundation. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Accounts Payable – Verify coding of expenses and preparation of cheques.

  • Bank Deposits

  • Assist with reconciliation of monthly Visa reports.

  • Salesforce input, management & donor management support

  • Back up bookkeeping and scanning of journal entries into QuickBooks.

  • Salesforce data management

  • Preparation of GST/HST return (bi-annually)

  • Assist with preparation of Charity Tax Return with the CRA & 990 (IRS)

  • Responding to Jays Care phone and email inquiries

  • Budget template creation

  • General financial support of JCF events

  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in University or College education in Finance & Accounting, or related area of study.

  • Experience in the Not-for-Profit sector an asset

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Expert in Excel & knowledge of QuickBooks an asset

  • Knowledge of Salesforce for Non-profit an asset

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Highly organized, excellent as the development of systems and processes

  • Ability to multi-task and meet required deadlines.

  • Team player and ability to see the big picture goals of the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
