CIBC Director, Client Strategy - 20 Month Contract/Secondment in Toronto, Ontario

What you’ll be doing

You will be accountable for leading the development and execution of a highly integrated roadmap of client-focused initiatives across Personal and Business Banking products and channels. You will be the primary business owner and lead for a major program that touches many key stakeholders across P&BB.

Work is varied and diverse, but you can expect it will involve identifying best practices, leading strategic client data analysis, building financial models, and leading a cross-functional team throughout the stages of solution identification, scoping, designing, implementing and tracking. Components of the role also include quantifying opportunities, and creating executive-level analysis, communication, and frameworks to ensure effective decision making.

As a highly accountable and proactive leader, the role will be laser focused on growth through strong client and frontline engagement tactics at scale to meet or exceed key performance indicator targets.

This is a high exposure role that will require strong execution leadership, ability to influence at all levels, and proactive “roll-up the sleeves” mentality to manage a complex set of initiatives across partners.

How you’ll succeed

  • Complex Planning & Execution – You will proactively identify innovative and scalable growth and engagement opportunities relevant to migrating client transactions to self-serve channels by assessing global competition, analyzing internal data, and client journey mapping, and turning those insights into actionable and tactical plans. You will also serve as business lead for the implementation of transaction migration initiatives- orchestrating work packages across various partners, managing budgets, reviews, approvals, as well as business case sizing opportunities to secure funds and buy-in, and develop appropriate KPIs and targets. You have strong urgency and ability to remove roadblocks, especially as it relates to launching campaigns, test & learns, offers, capabilities and partnerships, as well as gathering client and frontline feedback to ensure tactics are effective.

  • Consultative & Analytical Thinking – You have a strong understanding of CIBC product, channel & distribution capabilities. You are able to easily generate client insights and are highly skilled at synthesizing complex information into simple to digest & actionable insights. You understand the strategic & financial implications of various solutions that might be created to meet client needs for priority segments. You have an excellent ability to articulate issues and recommendations via your analyses and have a proven track record in creating materials meant to be shared at Executive Forums.

  • Drive to Measured Outcomes & Monitor Progress – You have a proven track record of creating both urgency and collaboration amongst all levels in order to get the job done well. You will also lead the monitoring & measurement of KPIs set for the program and for each initiative in-flight, as well as make recommendations to adjust plans or scope to ensure business objectives are met.
