As an Analyst & Coordinator Alternative Product Development & Management, you will support business and product analytics as well as coordinative support with the implementation of key business initiatives, programs, and other related activities within CIBC Asset Management with a focus on Alternative Products.

The incumbent reports to the Managing Director, with dotted line reporting to the Senior Manager , Alternative Products and works closely with key stakeholders across the Product Development Team, along with key stakeholders groups within CAM and across CIBC to advance the needs of the business and our clients.

How to succeed

  • Support in the development and management of the Alternative products line-up. Provides supporting activities in the design and implementation of new products and initiatives within Alternative Products. Liaise with various groups across CAM and CIBC with knowledge in Alternative Products ( IMR, Capital Markets, CAM Product Strategy, CIBC PWM US). Deep knowledge of the product offering across platforms, channels and product features in Canada and Globally

  • Provides Product, business and operational analysis, and coordinating activities. Supports the analysis of business needs and objectives for development of strategic business plans for Alternatives product development. Provides analysis for developing business cases and recommendations. Incumbents typically would be part of a "project team" composed of internal and external representatives to implement and design new product or services or manage operational matters that support the broader business needs . Responsible for ensuring and coordinating key activities across CAM /CIBC teams to ensure the proper execution and meeting of timelines for product requirements such as Financial statements, monthly reporting , and other regular business requirements supporting the products.

  • Provide support for on-going management in the delivery of a product or service while ensuring that the activities are consistent with CIBC's values, the product group or business plans and coordinated with the activities of other related areas. Work with internal and external units in communicating product information through customizing training and communication/promotional programs to sales and support staff within CIBC Asset Management and via advertising to external customers . Maintain comprehensive competitive information on market penetration, product capabilities and initiatives.

  • Networking. Grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and collaborate with others to ensure clients are connected to the right people and opportunities. The role requires cooperation and collaboration with a variety of colleagues across the firm and enterprise, such as: Legal,Tax, Risk, Business Management, Sales leadership, Portfolio Managers, Compliance, Other CIBC LOB (Commercial banking/ Capital Markets etc)

Who you are:

  • You’re a certified professional. University degree in Business or Finance. CFA designation or underway. Other Investment accreditation an asset (eg. CSC, CFP).

  • You have 2-5 years of related experience.

  • Financial and investment modeling capabilities

  • Creative skills sufficient to resolve or identify innovative alternatives or opportunities

  • Y ou can demonstrate some knowledge of strategic planning, project management skills, and product management principles sufficient to identify, develop and implement approved initiatives
